This Tuesday, Neinor Homes CEO Juan Velayos participated in an informational breakfast/colloquium held by the Asociación de Directivos y Profesionales de Euskadi (ADYPE) at the Gran Hotel Domine in Bilbao. The event discussed the outlook for the future of the real estate sector, with Basque Deputy Minister for Housing Pedro Jáuregui.

In his speech, the CEO of this real estate development company said the sector in Spain is at a good point, "sustained by a new business model focused on values like professionalising and industrialising the sector, plus a strong commitment to sustainable building with ongoing innovation and optimisation of processes."

From the point of view of the private sector, Juan Velayos gave the example of the day-to-day operations of the company he runs. "Neinor Homes is a solid business financially and has clear goals and values, seeking to renew the industry," he pointed out.

For his part, the Basque Deputy Minister for Housing spoke about the Basque Country's Master Plan for Housing 2018-2020 and its goals, the main challenge of which, he explained, is to develop a Law on Housing and ensure everyone has a right to it.

"We have to have more subsidised housing, encourage remodelling older housing and using empty homes, all in coordination and collaboration with other stakeholders," said Pedro Jáuregui, stressing that the end goal of the Master Plan for Housing is to "meet present needs and prepare for the future through efficient use of the resources available."

After the guest speakers, there was an interesting colloquium moderated by Eva Domaika, news director at Cadena SER Euskadi, discussing some of the most relevant aspects of the current state of the real estate sector in Euskadi.
