“It’s time to boost the sector in Spain supported in some macroeconomic circumstances that do not exist in any other country in Europe

Juan Velayos, Neinor Homes’ CEO, participated in the Spain-International Investment Opportunities Forum

              As part of the Barcelona Meeting Point 2016 celebration, the property development company manager participated on October 20th, along with other representatives of the spanish real estate market, in the Spain International Investment Opportunities Forum, organized by Property EU.

              In his speech he assured that it is the right moment to reinvigorate the real estate market according to some favorable macroeconomic conditions which benefit the Spanish residential market.

             "Spain is now going through a good time, with a GDP growth not comparable to any other country in Europe”, he explains.

              In this way, Juan Velayos summarize, among other positive factors, the rise in credits granting, the unemployment falling or the improvement in the ability of the families to access to first or second homes. "All this is combined with the housing market falling prices, around 30-40%”, he adds.

               “There is a clear demand but the supply is so limited”. “After 10 years without barely build anything, now the market is collapsed”. In this context, new players have emerged with the support of international investors, as Neinor Homes, although in this case is about a new company (born in May 2015) but with 30 years of track record.

           

            More than 200 people working for the market transformation
